EU AI ACT COMPLIANCE
IN FORCE SINCE AUGUST 2024 — TRANSPARENCY OBLIGATIONS AND ENFORCEMENT FROM 2 AUGUST 2026

Prove your AI use meets the law — before a regulator asks

The EU AI Act has applied since August 2024 and its obligations are activated in phases. From 2 August 2026 the transparency obligations (Article 50) apply to every organisation that uses chatbots or AI-generated content — regardless of whether you operate a high-risk system. This kit gives you the classification, documentation and evidence to demonstrate that.

EU AI ACT COMPLIANCE

Most compliance content is already out of date

The EU AI Act received a major timeline overhaul this year. The Digital Omnibus postponed obligations for high-risk systems (Annex III) from August 2026 to December 2027, and for product-related high-risk systems (Annex I) to August 2028. Many existing compliance templates were built on the old timeline and steer organisations toward the wrong priority.

What was not postponed: the transparency obligations in Article 50 and the full enforcement regime, both still in force on 2 August 2026. For most organisations that use AI through a subscription or an integrated tool, that is the moment the first concrete obligations kick in — not the high-risk date that gets all the attention.

This kit is built on the timeline as it actually stands after the Omnibus.

How does this relate to the AI Governance Kit?

The kits can be used independently. Many customers combine them: the AI Governance Kit for internal structuring, the AI Act Compliance Kit as a legal evidence file on top. For NIS2- or quantum-related obligations, see the other kits in the portfolio.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is this kit based on the most current timeline?+
Yes. The kit reflects the Digital Omnibus changes that took effect on 27 July 2026: high-risk obligations postponed to December 2027 (Annex III) and August 2028 (Annex I), while the transparency obligations (Article 50) and the enforcement regime remain in force on 2 August 2026.
Does this replace legal advice?+
No. This kit gives you the structure, templates and classification tools to take and document the right steps yourself. For binding legal advice on your specific situation, we recommend consulting a specialist lawyer.
Does this work together with the AI Governance Kit?+
Not necessary, but recommended. This kit covers the legal obligations of the EU AI Act. The AI Governance Kit supplies the broader governance framework — policy, roles, risk management — within which these obligations are structurally embedded. See also the comparison section above and the AI Governance Kit.
In which language are the documents?+
All documents are in English, so you can use them directly in international or English-language reporting lines.
